Day 3
We left early in the morning to see the heroic Chittaurgarh Fort. And what an experience it was!

The Rajputs of the Mewar region of Rajasthan (Udaipur, Chittaurgarh and its nearby areas) have always been ferociously patriotic. Laying down their lives to protect their motherland from the invading Mughals. On the other hand, due to their geographical compulsions, the rulers of eastern Rajasthan did not have much of a choice, but to fawn the Mughals in Delhi.

Even today, the conservative Mewar Rajputs look down on their counterparts in the eastern half of the state and do not marry off their daughters to them.

Probably spurred by the tales of valiant soldiers, on our return, we took a horse safari in the rugged countryside for the rest of the day.
